The word Khassonka means "from Khasso" in Khassonka language. It can be used to refer to the people, the language, the music etc.
The Khassonka ethnic goup (usually spelled in French, "Khassonké") are decendants of the Fula and Malinke people of West Africa.
For this site, I'm usually going to spell it "Khassonke" because I think it'll be better for the search engines.
I bring you this site because I love Khassonké music, song, dance, and culture.
On this site, I want to provide as many video and audio recordings as well as links and other resources as I can.
My hope is that, as more people become aware of this style of music, they will want to become more involved.
